Perception:
From a marketing standpoint
Perception is a science fiction fantasy novel that tends more towards the fantasy genre. I have purposely steered away from a scientific and technically involved novel. I find this type of novel can leave most readers scratching there heads as the author attempts to build an unfamiliar world that is very difficult for any reader to associate with.
Fantasy novels are one of the most popular of all literary genres. I don’t have to tell you that this is one of the largest areas of sales in any book store.
Perception promises to reward the reader with an action filled story that brim’s with historical references and accurate interesting facts and trivia. I find that including these elements, within a novel of this nature, serves to reward the reader with a sense of having learned something as well as enjoying a good yarn.
The story also incorporates an endearing love story that encompasses the very nature of loves timeless bond. It becomes evident as we follow these two lovers throughout the ages that they have always been drawn together despite distance and the hardships of human survival.
As you can now see, Perception has the potential to appeal to a large cross section of the reading public. This can only lead to increased book sales and a profitable endeavor for all involved.
I have also purposefully created a leading character that can live on in subsequent novels. Simon Caldwell with his unique job can easily be placed as the main protagonist in a variety of different adventures involving the paranormal, the spiritual, and indeed, the downright weird
